FAQ

What Is Direct Access PT?

Direct access allows you to see a physical therapist without first obtaining a referral from a physician. As of 2015, 50 states, the District of Columbia, and U.S. Virgin Islands have some form of direct access. Studies show that direct-access PT results in fewer general practitioner visits and hospital admissions than those arranged via physician referral.

Can Direct Access PT speed recovery?

Through direct access, patients can experience less pain and a faster recovery. Patients generally achieve better outcomes in fewer visits than those referred by physicians because we can take the time to spend with you instead of managing a handful of clients at once.

Do I need a script or referral to come to PT?

No you do not need a script. Practicing as an out of network clinic in a direct access state means you can come the therapy immediately without waiting weeks to see the doctor.

Can I use my insurance?

Restore will provide you with a bill that you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement of your out of network benefits. However each plan is different and the patient will be responsible for looking up their benefits.  Each patient is responsible for paying at the time of their visit. We accept cash, credit or check.

Can I use my HSA?

Yes you can use your HSA for physical therapy services at Restore PT.

What should I have at my first visits?
